Never underestimate the transformational impact of getting the basics right.
To be more specific, never underestimate what can be achieved by:
- working on the work
- in the work
- with the people who do the work
- and the people the work is for
- to make the work work better
Here's what that looks like...

WORKING ON THE WORK
We don't get lost in pseudo-problems. The focus isn't chasing the bandwagon, learning the methdology or giving each other therapy. It's understanding and acting on the things that directly drive value.
WORKING IN THE WORK
We don't get lost in pseudo-problems. We stay connected to what's really happening and why. We don't rely on opinions and hearsay. We recognise that data doesn't give us answers but does help us to ask better questions and make sense of what we are seeing... when we turn up in the work.
WORKING WITH THE PEOPLE WHO DO THE WORK
We don't get lost in pseudo-problems. Engagement isn't a townhall meeting, a survey or an all hands email. Solutions are not done to, they're grown with. Action and learning happen in situ and together. One step at a time.
WORKING WITH THE PEOPLE THE WORK IS FOR
We don't get lost in pseudo-problems. Involvement isn't a focus group, reference group or survey. Co-production happens in the context of real customer needs and circumstances. Solutions are not done to, they're grown with. Action and learning happen in situ and together. One customer at a time.
TO MAKE THE WORK WORK BETTER
We don't get lost in pseudo-problems. We stick to making the work work better. Doing what really matters gets easier, better, faster and cheaper. That's good for everyone. Our focus on better work grows better ways of working but also better places to work.
